RED WINE

    Domaine de la Charbonniere
A top CNDP grower, with 10 acres in Vacqueyras - the latter are great value wines!

43 75cl Vacqueyras
Domaine de la Charbonniere

RP - The 2010 Vacqueyras offers lots of cedary, loamy soil notes interwoven with black cherry jam and black currants. Medium to full-bodied with supple tannins and admirable purity as well as intensity, it should drink well for a decade.

2010 £15.00 RP91
2011-21

Domaine de Bila Haut de Roussillon
Michel Chapoutier

46 75cl Haut Cotes de Roussillon Villages Latour de France
OCCULTUM LAPIDEM
M. Chapoutier

RP - One of the more polished, sexy examples of the cuvee, the 2015 Côtes du Roussillon Villages Latour de France Occultum Lapidem checks in as a blend of 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache and the balance Carignan and Mourvèdre, aged all in concrete tanks. It boasts killer notes of black raspberries, cassis, pepper and liquorice, with just a hint of chocolate appearing with time in the glass.
This medium to full-bodied, layered and beautifully textured red is an incredible value and will be impossible to resist over the coming 4-5 years, and I’m sure it will keep even longer.

2015 £14.00 RP94
2017-25

BIODYNAMIC Wines!

Great Value and Quality!

    Domaine Perrin
A top Southern Rhone domaine; better know for the top CNDP Chateau de Beaucastel label - great value for money, as it is a CNDP except for the name.

60 75cl Coudoulet Rouge de Beaucastel
Domaine Perrin

RP/Joe Czerwinski - Potentially the best Coudoulet I've ever tasted, the 2016 Cotes du Rhone Coudoulet de Beaucastel tasted from foudre was singing. Sourced from 80-year-old vines just outside the Châteauneuf boundary, it's incredibly long and rich for a Côtes du Rhône. Black olives, blackberries and spices fill out the palate of this wine, which must surely be considered a bargain when released.

2016 £19.00 RP93
2018-26

    Domaine Xavier Vins
Xavier Vignon, is one of the region’s most talented winemakers with a gift for finding and vinifying choice plots of vines that result in simply superb wines.

39 75cl Arcane XIX Le Soleil
Cotes du Rhone Village
Domaine Xavier Vins

RP/Joe Czerwinski - The 2015 Cotes du Rhone Villages Arcane XVIII Le Soleil is youthfully dark in colour and fruit-forward, but it also shows softening, silky tannins. It's full bodied but not overblown, with a sensationally seductive mouthfeel. Black cherries define the fruit, joined by hints of dark chocolate and enough garrigue to give it a seriously savoury character despite the fruit. This is an old-vine blend of 80% Grenache with 10% each Syrah and Mourvèdre, aged 15 months in one-third new oak, the rest in concrete or foudre. Maybe the best Côte du Rhône Villages I've ever tasted.

2015 £20.00
