Domaine de Bila Haut de Roussillon
Michel Chapoutier

34 75cl Haut Cotes de Roussillon Villages Latour de France
M. Chapoutier

RP/Joe Czerwinski - The 2017 Côtes de Roussillon Villages Latour de France Occultum Lapidem is a step up from the Les Vignes bottling, drawn from just the one commune of Latour de France. A 60-40 blend of Grenache and Syrah, aged mostly in concrete, it offers up bright aromas of cherries and blueberries. It's medium to full-bodied, with a creamy mid-palate and supple tannins, then turns peppery on the long, silky finish.

2017 £15.00 RP/JC93

Great Value and Quality!

A Bio-Dynamically farmed estate, making really wonderful wines; which represent Top Value for the price!

RP - Easily one of the top estates in the Languedoc (if not southern France), Chateau Puech Haut lies just outside the village of Saint-Drezery and is owned and run by Gerard Bru, with consulting help from Philippe Cambie. They produce a number of cuvees, with their entry level efforts representing superb values, and their top cuvees being able to stand toe to toe with the greatest wines in the world.

Wonderful value wines - please try a bottle!

75cl Coteaux du Languedoc
Saint Drezery
 Prestige Rouge
Chateau Puech-Haut - The 2016 Prestige is made from 55% Grenache and 45% Syrah that’s from 65- to 80-year-old vines aged all in concrete tanks. It's a huge, opulent, sexpot of a wine that offers crazy good notes of black licorice, roasted herbs, peppered meats, and ripe, black and hints of blue fruits. While this is no doubt a big, rich wine, it has remarkable elegance and purity, and is the finest vintage I’ve tasted to date. Drink it over the coming 4-5 years. This cuvée was first made in 2009 by owner Gerard Bru, consultant Philippe Cambie, and Eric Solomon, and it has knocked it out of the park in every vintage to date.

2016 £16.00 JD94

Great Value - Highly Recommended

A TOP estate, making elegant yet long-lived wines - the
Les Glorieuses
is one of their top cuvees, and is certainly worth trying.

75cl Les Glorieuses
Coteaux du Languedoc
Pic Saint-Loup
 Clos Marie

RP/David Schildknecht - Representing co-fermented, 100% vendange entier Syrah-Grenache, and tasted from the 1,300-liter Stockinger round and 1,500 litre oval foudres in which its totality matures, the Clos Marie 2010 Coteaux du Languedoc Pic Saint-Loup Les Glorieuses delivers a floral profusion (rose, wisteria, iris); saliva gland-liberating salinity; deeply rich red meatiness; and detonative, reverberative interaction of concentrated dark berries with peat and stone that left me practically dizzy. Nut oils, herbal essences, iodine, and iron filings add to the dazzling complexity on exhibit in this finely-textured example of the dynamic equilibrium of richness and vivacity, density and refinement that is singularly possible in 2010. Look for the better part of two decade’s attentive enjoyment and wonder.

2010 £62.00 RP/DS97
