 Côtes du Rhone Rouge
'Les Dentelles'
Yves Cheron

RP/Jeb Dunnuck -
I was blown away by the 2015 Côtes du Rhône Yves Cheron les Dentelles. Made from 65% Grenache and 35% Syrah aged all in cement, it’s a big, rich, full-bodied beauty that’s loaded with notions of kirsch, blackberries, toasted spices and white pepper. Deep, rich, concentrated and impeccably balanced, it’s the real deal.
2015 £12.00 RP/JD92
     Chateau Pesquie
RP - Easily one of my favourite estates from the up-and-coming Ventoux region, Chateau Pesquie is run by the talented brothers, Alexandre & Frederic Chaudiere. The wines sell for a song, yet always deliver high-quality, loads of character and impeccably made profiles.
3 75cl Cuvee des Terrasses
Chateau Pesquie
Cotes du Ventoux Rouge

RP -
In the same mould and an awesome value year in and year out, the 2012 Cotes du Ventoux Cuvee des Terrasses is a blend of 70% Grenache (60-year-old vines) and 30% Syrah (30+-year-old vines) that was aged two-thirds in concrete (and some in stainless steel) and one-third in older oak.
Made from a blend of different terroirs on the estate and coming from hillside vineyards lying between 840-930 feet in elevation, it offers up a gorgeously pure, supple and seamless profile with kirsch and berry-styled fruit, licorice and spring flower-like qualities all emerging from the glass.
Elegant, forward and delicious, it gains in stature in the glass, is ridiculously textured from such an inexpensive wine, and has sweet tannin emerging on the finish.
2012 £14.00 RP92

Great Value - Highly Recommended

    Domaine de la Charbonniere
A top CNDP grower, with 10 acres in Vacqueyras - the latter are great value wines!
43 75cl Vacqueyras
Domaine de la Charbonniere

RP - The 2010 Vacqueyras offers lots of cedary, loamy soil notes interwoven with black cherry jam and black currants. Medium to full-bodied with supple tannins and admirable purity as well as intensity, it should drink well for a decade.

2010 £15.00 RP91
Domaine de Bila Haut de Roussillon
Michel Chapoutier

49 75cl Haut Cotes de Roussillon Villages Latour de France
M. Chapoutier

RP - One of the more polished, sexy examples of the cuvee, the 2015 Côtes du Roussillon Villages Latour de France Occultum Lapidem checks in as a blend of 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache and the balance Carignan and Mourvèdre, aged all in concrete tanks. It boasts killer notes of black raspberries, cassis, pepper and liquorice, with just a hint of chocolate appearing with time in the glass.
This medium to full-bodied, layered and beautifully textured red is an incredible value and will be impossible to resist over the coming 4-5 years, and I’m sure it will keep even longer.

2015 £14.00 RP94

Great Value and Quality!

    Domaine Xavier Vins
Xavier Vignon, is one of the region’s most talented winemakers with a gift for finding and vinifying choice plots of vines that result in simply superb wines.
39 75cl Arcane XIX Le Soleil
Cotes du Rhone Village
Domaine Xavier Vins

RP/Joe Czerwinski - The 2015 Cotes du Rhone Villages Arcane XVIII Le Soleil is youthfully dark in colour and fruit-forward, but it also shows softening, silky tannins. It's full bodied but not overblown, with a sensationally seductive mouthfeel. Black cherries define the fruit, joined by hints of dark chocolate and enough garrigue to give it a seriously savoury character despite the fruit. This is an old-vine blend of 80% Grenache with 10% each Syrah and Mourvèdre, aged 15 months in one-third new oak, the rest in concrete or foudre. Maybe the best Côte du Rhône Villages I've ever tasted.

2015 £20.00
