    DRY WHITE WINE
51 75cl CLOS MARSALETTE
 BLANC
Pessac-Leognan

Wine Spectator
- A deliciously plump style, with mirabelle, yellow apple, ginger and straw flavours wrapped in warm brioche notes, offering a long, almond-tinted finish. This shows enough zip for balance, but remains more hedonistic in style than most of its peers.

GOULEE BLANC
Medoc
Chateau Cos d'Estournel

Wine Spectator
- Sleek, with mouth-watering tangerine, verbena, dried pineapple and quinine notes that ripple through the lengthy finish. This has cut and drive, with a salted butter note that really hangs nicely on the finish. Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon.

Only 500 cases made, so it is very difficult to find.

MALARTIC-LAGRAVIERE
BLANC
Pessac-Leognan

RP/Neal Martin -
Tasted blind at the Southwold 2012 tasting. The 2012 Malartic-Lagravière Blanc has a very attractive bouquet, armed with expressive Sauvignon Blanc scents: gooseberry, greengage and a touch of honeysuckle. The palate is clean and fresh with a veneer of oak that will be subsumed with time. I appreciate the balance and poise of this wine, that dab of ginger on the finish that leaves the tongue tingling long after the wine has gone. What a fantastic, life-affirming, damn delicious white Bordeaux from the estate - this comes highly recommended.

9 75cl GUIRAUD
Sauternes

Wine Spectator
- A large-scale version, with seamlessly layered notes of almond cream, apricot, ginger, mango, piecrust, papaya and toasted hazelnut. The long, spice-infused finish shows ample depth, echoing with an enticing tarte Tatin note.

2016-35
11 75cl GUIRAUD
Sauternes

RP
- Tasted as part of a vertical held at the chateau. The 2010 is more Zen-like on the nose compared to the 2009 – more minerality coming through, tense and citric. The palate offers surprising viscosity on the entry with a fine bead of acidity. There is plenty of apricot and dried honey. It has a lovely caressing texture, although there is still some new oak to absorb on the vanilla-scented finish. This has great potential.

24 37.5cl GUIRAUD
Sauternes

RP
- The 2009 Guiraud is very tight on the nose, taking time to unfurl, with notes of apricot, peach, a touch of honeysuckle and quince. Good definition. The palate is impressive: tightly coiled, honeyed fruit, very fine acidity, linear at first then fanning out across the finish with notes of dried apricot, nectarine, a touch of almond and a faint hint of spice. With good length and unctuous on the finish, this Guiraud is impossible to ignore.

Sauternes

RP
- There is a touch of sulphur on the nose that smudges the aromatics a little, but it clears up nicely after being put to one side for five minutes, with touches of dried pineapple, apricot and beeswax. The palate is well-balanced with a crisp, citrus-driven entry, impressive cohesion, with an attractive honeyed finish that shows great purity. This may warrant a higher appraisal in the future.

29 75cl GUIRAUD
Sauternes

RP
- The Guiraud 2007 has a typically unabashed, exuberant bouquet with tangerine, pear, white peach and honeysuckle. The palate is medium-bodied with a lovely viscous entry, very good weight of fruit, and a lot of botrytis; smooth and very harmonious towards the finish that would benefit from a little more clarity and dare I say, “personality”. Still, a very fine Sauternes.

22 75cl LAFAURIE PEYRAGUEY
Sauternes

RP
- Tasted single blind against its peers. This is another Sauternes that is evolving beautifully in bottle. Initially it is rather closed on the nose with touches of lemon curd, apple-blossom and fresh pears. The palate is well-balanced with good acidity, and it is imbued with a femininity and poise. Though it is tighter compared to its peers at the moment, it is sure to give immense pleasure down the line. Could this be as great as the 1986?or even greater?

- This superb, light to medium gold/green-hued Sauternes is a full-bodied, opulent, enormously endowed, moderately sweet offering with plenty of pineapple, peach, caramel, and smoky new oak characteristics. With great viscosity as well as richness, and good underlying acidity providing vibrancy and definition.
